Welcome to the Higgins lab website. We are located in the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London.  Established in 2014, we use human skin and hair follicles to model tissue growth, development and repair.  We employ next generation genomic analyses with confocal microscopy, live cell imaging, and in vitro organoid modelling to understand steps in skin and hair development, and the response of these cells after different types of injury.  The overarching goals of the lab are to promote skin and hair regeneration after wound healing, and to re-engineer scars into functional skin.

See our individual project pages for more information.
